Good September All,
It is time.
Time to get back to the fall routine.
For parents, it means getting your kids ready for school.
Back to school shopping.
Finding the right pair of shoes, the right pair of pants, and the right color of shirt.
Maybe it is finding the right backpack to fit all their homework in.
Living with a wife and raising two children who are teachers, going back to school was always fun for them. They went shopping, bought color crayons, notebooks, pens, and pencils by the hundreds. Well at least that is how it seemed to me.
But the funny thing was that, about a month in, they always seemed to run out of pencils.
From kindergarten and even through college, we are told that we should always have a pencil with us, yet for some reason, it is always the first thing most kids forget in their locker or claim they don’t have.
A simple pencil.
I know that most of us can be forgetful from time to time.
I know that the church hasn’t seen a lot of volunteer opportunities over the past couple of years. As I mentioned in church, there is much that will be happening over the next couple of months.
In this Breeze, you will find a calendar for the next two months; take a moment to look at what is happening. Write it in your calendar, put it on your phone, then come and join us. We need you more than ever!
We need your help with Trustees.
We need your help being a Liturgist.
We need your help on committees.
We need your help with the Children’s ministry.
We need your help financially.
So please be a part of the church. Every little bit helps, and more hands make less work.
And lastly, confirmation will begin on September 21st, 3:45-5:00. As a reminder, this is a two-year program. Some are in their second year, and others who will be in their first year. If you are in 6th grade or later and want to be confirmed, you are welcome to join. It will be held on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
And a friendly reminder, if you want a visit from me, call me at 218-731-9302.
Blessings,
Pastor Greg
