Happy May All,
We have finally made it through the month of April. There was Easter, Bibles, and Confirmation; we did our last breakfast for the season and had a very successful Spring Dinner.
When I first came to Motley UMC, I said that my ministry was built around Discipleship and Love. I am going to have to say that I have seen it in full swing. People helping others, people loving others, it is what Christ has called all of us to do as Kingdom workers. Thank you all.
Now we are on to the month of May; what is happening?
On the first Sunday, we will be celebrating Holy Communion and will be having our monthly Potluck. Bring a dish to share or just come and eat; there is always more than enough.
The second Sunday is Mother’s Day. Come and worship. I also believe that the United Women in Faith will be giving out their Special Mission Recognition.
The Third Sunday will be just a normal Worship service; I am going out on a limb to say the music will be great.
The last Sunday of May is Pentecost; as a reminder, wear red as we call upon the Holy Spirit.
Also, don’t forget that Memorial Day is May 29th, the official beginning of Summer! (We hope!) But not just that, it is a time to remember those that have gone before us and have served our country.
Lastly, I am looking for a couple more people to help restart Vacation Bible School. If you have noticed, there are quite a few young ones around the church. If you are willing to help be a part of that ministry, please reach out to me; your help would be appreciated as we move forward.
Once again, thank you all for the birthday wishes and cards. And thank you all for what you do for the church.
P.S.
I forgot: Annual Conference will be May 31st-June 1st. Please keep our conference in your prayers.
Blessings,
Pastor Greg Leslie
