Good May Disciples,
May is an interesting month; spring really sets in, the temperatures warm up, it is Mother’s Day, and maybe the garden is getting planted. I am sure that for those of you who mow the lawn, you have pulled it out and have them ready to cut. Oh, I almost forgot, opening fishing. I am sure there are many more things that I could add that happen in May, but I am sure you get the point.
On the church side, May is also a busy month. On the 19th we will be celebrating both new members and Pentecost. Remember to wear red. Later in the month, on the 29th and 30th, the MN Annual Conference will be held in Bloomington. With the General Conference taking place in late April, I am sure that there will be much discussion around what happens at the General Conference. If you don’t know United Methodism, “General Conference is where the rules and procedures are set for the church’s life. There is also communication on the denomination’s position on a variety of issues and cultural challenges.” This takes place every four years, but because of COVID, things have changed but are getting back to normal.
Other than all that good stuff, I want to thank everyone who took part in the spring chicken dinner. From those of you who baked a pie, helped set up, fried chicken, cleaned up, and even came and ate, thank you all very much! What you all do is much appreciated.
Lastly, I hope you all have a great month.
Get out and enjoy the weather.
Come to church!
Let’s see and discuss how Jesus is working in your life!
Blessings,
Pastor Greg Leslie
