Good March All,
In a sermon last month, you heard me talk about how my life has changed over the past year. It has been a year of many changes, which brings me to the season of Lent.
When you think of the Lenten season, what comes to your mind?
Are you praying more?
Are you focusing on what is coming?
Are you making changes to your life in faith?
Have you thought about grace?
I know that each one of us is on a different path when it comes to our personal faith. And I am here to tell you all that it is okay.
Even when we look into the life of John Wesley compared to his brother Charles their lives, even their experiences, were not the same. But here is the thing, they both kept at it, even through the challenging times in their lives.
When I think of the Wesleys, I need to think of “Grace.” And when I think of Grace, I think about Paul and his letter to the Romans. That is why I have chosen to explore Paul’s writing on Wednesday nights. I want us all to think about why grace is an essential piece of our journey with Christ. And not just that, but where we would be without it.
That is why over the next forty days, I want to encourage you all to try to take a step forward. Maybe read the Bible more, pray more, even take more personal time for yourself, and don’t be afraid to offer a bit of grace.
As I end this month, let me remind you all that every Wednesday night during Lent, we will have a service with a simple soup and bread meal before. We will start serving around 5:15, and the service will begin at 6:00. Come and join in on our journey of grace.
God bless,
Pastor Greg Leslie
