Good August All,
Where has it gone?
By that, I mean summer. It seems that it just started a couple of weeks ago, and now teachers and students are getting ready to go back to school.
When I mention this at home, Stephanie grimaces at me and tells me to be quiet.
August, the dog days of summer. The gardens are producing bounty, the grass turns brown and scorched, and we can forget about the flies.
Oh, yes, the end of summer.
We can’t forget about sweet corn.
Well, I can say that since I have disappointed many with talk about the end of summer, let’s switch it up and talk about what worship will look like through the month of August.
Let me ask you a couple of questions.
“Where have you seen God’s face?”
“What are you hungry for?”
“What are you seeking?”
Lastly, “Is it even fair?”
These are some of the questions that will be asked over the next month during worship. As disciples, it’s not always about giving until you can’t give any more; it is also about yourself and your journey. Being on a faith journey is not always easy, and you need to know what will feed your soul.
So please join us in worship as we continue with the Book of Genesis and the Gospel of Matthew. We will read about the feeding of the 5000, and we will read about what comes in must go out. We will hear more about Jacob and Esau and even investigate the story of Joseph.
Have a great August,
Pastor Greg Leslie
