Good August All,
Welcome to the “Dog Days” of summer. I know last month, I probably complained a bit too much about the weather, so now I am probably going to pay for it.
The month of August is full of transition. There is school shopping, the state fair, Labor Day, and everything in between. It is also a time to start focusing on getting back into the routine. I want you to know that I am not trying to bring anyone down, it is just the reality that summer is only 3 months long.
With that being said, I want you all to start thinking about how we are going to come together as a church family. How we are going to work as a faith community to bring the love of Christ into the community. I also want you to think about where your time as a member is being used. There will be monthly opportunities to donate your time. Maybe you want to be a liturgist, help usher, or even help teach Sunday School. There will also be opportunities with the community breakfast, cleaning the church, or even being a part of a committee. These are all great places to make and build lasting relationships.
Lastly, I want to remind everyone of the concert that will be taking place at the end of the month. We are welcoming back The Jumpin’ Jehosafats. This group is a real treat to see and listen to. So, if you have time, make sure you mark it on your calendar and join us on Thursday, August 29th, at 6:30.
I hope you all have a safe August.
Blessings,
Pastor Greg Leslie
